It all started 10 years ago, when the founder Simon was rolling up Awesome Maps with his own hands in his apartment in Berlin. Now, we're a small remote team of travel lovers from around the world, and our passion for creating the most inspiring maps is stronger than ever!

We don't work with 3rd party print-on-demand companies. This ensures that we have control over the quality of each material - from the best microfiber on towels to museum-grade canvas - and also the highest quality, durable printing.

Surftrip Map Mix Match: the story behind

The very first map we made, back in 2009! After a surf trip through France and northern Spain, our founder Simon wanted to pin the places he'd been to on a map - but found they were all pretty boring. So he made his own! Combinining expert research on the world's best surf spots, useful information for surfers and hand-drawn illustrations, the Surftrip Map was born.

This map shows you the sweetest spots across the globe. Over 1000 surf spots, including the 50 best surf spots in the world, information about wave quality, water temperature, peak season, shark attacks and more.
