5 Trips I Dream About Right Now (that You Should Add to Your Bucket List!)

Berliner Luft, perfect sunset, perfect view!

We brought some drinks all the way from Berlin (cleaned up afterwards of course), made a new cat friend, listened to some chill music and enjoyed an amazing sunset in this incredible unique place. Which makes you can’t help but wonder, where we all come from, why are we here and where we go. But in the best, most light-hearted was possible!

Cuba

This place is just Latin vibes in its purest form.

....yes, we got sold fake cigars (they had human hair in them, yuck!)

....yes, we got overcharged for a drive in a 1960s classic car

...yes, we got overcharged for everything else as well

But the Cubans do it in the most friendly way ever so you just play along and enjoy the ride. We did find some great cigars in the end, the drive down the Malecón is a great memory and we will also get over having paid a bit too much every now and then. When I think about this trip I think about the amazing people, playing poker with my friends, listening to Cuban music and smoking cigars. It reminds me to not always take myself too seriously and just enjoy life.

Taiwan

Probably not on too many lists for travel - but Taiwan is amazing. It’s a perfect blend between buzzing Asian streets and markets and wide roads and orderly traffic.

But once you make it out of the city, there is amazing beauty waiting for you. We took a trip to Taroko Gorge and rode scooters through the winding roads, it was amazing.

During that trip, nature struck and there was a pretty decent earthquake that affected the road quite a bit:

We got insanely lucky (obviously) and nothing happened to us or anyone on that road. But it was a great reminder that we’re a part of nature, not entitled to anything and that all we have is the right now.

New Zealand

You know when someone speaks English and they sound Australian but not quite? They’re probably from New Zealand! This is probably a description no Kiwi likes to hear but it’s the best way a German like me can describe it. And also it’s probably true ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That being said the people in New Zealand are pretty much the friendliest people I have ever met on any of our trips. Whether it was stopping for a coffee, meeting people on hikes, or finding the perfect photo setup and sharing this moment together. There was always great chat to be had and smiles exchanged. It made the trip that much better.

Scotland

You know that rainy country of eternal darkness in the north of Europe?

Yep, we also have no idea which one that could be. Because Scotland certainly treated us to an amazing trip last year. Motorbikes, tents, looong days and (mostly) great weather. The place is so versatile - I bet you didn’t expect this beach to be in Scotland!

Going through these pictures and memories, I can only say I’ve been blessed with some amazing trips. But what always made these trips special was good company and a sense of adventure. And sometimes you don’t have to travel far to find that, you can have a microadventure in your back garden or on a spontaneous cycle trip to the nearest town to yours. It's all about that feeling of exploring, of trying new things and learning new skills! So while we can't travel to far away places yet, but we can day dream, tell us, because we want to know...
